Ellie Goulding's New Music Video Takes Squad Goals To A New Level (Video)

by Kate Ryan

Forget about bad breakups and sexts with your exes.

Ellie Goulding's new music video for "Army" celebrates her best friend, Hannah, with gorgeous black-and-white shots of them cuddling, chilling, making coffee and generally having fun times.

There's even a real laugh track, which, believe me, plays better than it sounds.

An alternative take on traditional love songs, "Army" focuses on the relationships that, though equally important to romantic ones, often get sidelined in pop culture.

Watching the video, you can't help but recall all the times your friends were there when, maybe, your latest Tinder match wasn't.

As Goulding wrote in a Tumblr post,

I realised [sic] that I had focused a lot of writing on past relationships and it hit me I had never written about my best friend... I wanted to show our friendship for what it really is — honest, real, electric.

This is true love at its finest. See the video for yourself below, and don't forget to share it with your besties.
