Elite, what are your plans for next Saturday? Made Event, the team behind the celebrated annual Electric Zoo Festival, is proud to present Benny Benassi & Friends with Hardwell, Bingo Players and DallasK at Governors Beach Club on Governors Island, NYC, Saturday, June 9, 2012.

Benny Benassi rose to worldwide fame in 2002 with the release of his chart-topping single “Satisfaction,” and went on to win a Grammy Award for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise” in 2007. Last year saw the release of his album ‘Electroman,’ featuring hit singles “Beautiful People” (with Chris Brown), “Electroman” (feat. T-Pain) and “Cinema” (feat. Gary Go).

One of the most in-demand producers today, his work recently appeared on several tracks of Madonna’s new album, ‘MDNA.’ He regularly headlines major festivals and venues around the world, coming to historical Governors Island this summer to treat electronic music lovers to his dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth electro sound — and bringing a cohort of top electronic dance music talent with him: Dutch big room house genius Hardwell, worldwide chart-topping duo Bingo Players and glitchy electro house master DallasK.

The 18+ event will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight at Governors Beach Club, which encompasses a 4-story tent with open walls, an open air beach, VIP areas, a state of the art sound and light system, over 100 feet of bar space, and spectacular views of New York City.

Tickets are available at www.madeevent.com. Round-trip ferry transport included.

Ultra Wins Victory Over City Council, Festival To Remain In Miami

It’s been a hard road for Ultra after security breaches this 2014, giving motivation for city officials to be intent on banning the festival completely. Going so far as to compile a “worst-of” video compilation of the festival, city commissioner Marc Sarnoff and mayor Thomas Regalado have fought to recall UMF’s permits from Bayfront Park, home of the 3-day […]

Hipsters Aren’t Welcome In The House Of Hip Hop

Weeks ago an article appeared on Rap Rehab (“where consciousness lives”). In it, the author argued “satirically” that children should be protected from rap music: “Let me be the first to say it. I can be an extremist. So I have no problem admitting that I’m a self-proclaimed hater. I hate commercial rap, especially the […]

The Company Behind Your Favorite Rapper’s Favorite Cough Syrup Will Stop Making ‘Lean’

Actavis, perhaps the most popular and recognizable brand of lean (promethazine and codeine cough syrup) is stopping production. They cited media attention and glamorization of the unlawful, dangerous uses of the drug, which of course, they never intended people to do. They also didn’t profit off it too much, or at least won’t anymore. It’s […]

GIF Shows The Insane Increase In The Prison Population In The United States

Watch as this GIF details state imprisonment rates from 1979 to 2012. The color gradient represents a scale of zero-900 incarcerations per 100,000 residents, and comes to us via the National Prisoner Statistics Program. As a Midwesterner, I have to say that I was more than a little pleased to see the nation’s heartland start […]

Ah, Easter. The holiday that’s all about high-powered weaponry and blowing sh*t up. Right? No? Well, don’t tell that to the guys over at the YouTube channel RatedRR because they, as always, chose to get in the holiday spirit by firing high-caliber bullets at festive things. Since it’s Easter weekend, they decided to use a .50-Caliber […]
