Chris Brown At Ease Now That Phone Theft Case Is Dropped
Music News

Chris Brown will surely be breathing a sigh of relief. For his probation worries are over after it emerged he will not face criminal charges for snatching a woman’s cellphone when she tried to snap a photo of him outside a Miami Beach club.

A memo released by Miami-Dade County State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle on Friday said there is no evidence he intended to steal the phone in February or that he deleted any photos.

Either scenario was necessary for him to be charged with robbery or theft.

Prosecutors said he threw the phone from his limo and that it was picked up by Devon Blanche, head of security for rapper Tyga who had performed with Brown at the Cameo club that night.

The bodyguard tried to find out if someone had lost the phone, and ended up taking it with him to Atlanta during the rapper’s tour where he said he intended to find its owner.

A felony charge against Brown, 24, might have triggered a violation of his probation for his 2009 assault on his then girlfriend Rihanna.

The two have recently rekindled their romance and collaborated on a new duet, Nobody’s Business.

I can be an extremist. So I have no problem admitting that I’m a self-proclaimed hater. I hate commercial rap, especially the […]

The Company Behind Your Favorite Rapper’s Favorite Cough Syrup Will Stop Making ‘Lean’

Actavis, perhaps the most popular and recognizable brand of lean (promethazine and codeine cough syrup) is stopping production. They cited media attention and glamorization of the unlawful, dangerous uses of the drug, which of course, they never intended people to do. They also didn’t profit off it too much, or at least won’t anymore. It’s […]

A 20-Something’s Guide To Understanding The 401(k)

In 1980, Ted Benna, a benefits consultant, interpreted Section 401(k) of the Internal Revenue Code as a provision for highly compensated employees — read: executives and upper management — to electively defer their compensation to a later time to presumably be in a lower tax bracket. Ever since then, employers have pounced on the opportunity […]
