Jaytech is a 27-year-old DJ under the Anjunabeats label, created by the legendary group Above & Beyond. In the past, Jaytech has been the go-to opener, but now the DJ headlines on his own merit. Hailing from Canberra, Australia, Jaytech has put on incredible shows all across the globe. Currently, he is on his fun run of his Multiverse Tour and I was fortunate to witness an epic performance this past Friday, June 28, at Santos Party House in New York City.

Jaytech casually took the stage, as this was not his first rendezvous at the electric beach-inspired venue. James Cayzer a.k.a. Jaytech made his last appearance at Santos back in March. The show was nothing short of top-notch, as the venue was packed and reportedly received five noise complaints by the end of the night. This time around, Santos was not as crowded, yet the attendees present all appeared to be dedicated fans of the infamous Jaytech.

His set began promptly at 1 a.m. right after his opener Misan7hropia. Jaytech began with his signature sounds of trance-inspired melodic vocals. There was an immediate change of energy in the room. The room became livelier, the music became louder and the lights were brighter. Jaytech even gave the crowd a taste of his latest remix of Super8 & Tab’s recent release “Your Secret’s Safe.” Jaytech appeared to be playing a unique set of tracks as many of them were unrecognizable, not only to myself, but to other people.

He took Santos on an uplifting musical journey, as he continually smiled at his audience and enthusiastically played combinations of electronic, trance, progressive and tech-house inspired tracks. Throughout his set, he carried on conversations not only with event staff, but he also took the time to speak to fans that approached his booth.

All in all, Jaytech can be described as a passionate DJ who is driven by the love of his music and fans.

I’ve never had a chance to go to Japan, so my only exposure to the country’s culture has been through secondhand experiences and random clips from television shows and commercials. That second category has probably had the most influence on me and, as a result, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s one of the […]
