Gold Ends Higher, At Best In Eight Weeks

Gold futures gained Wednesday, pulled higher by rising U.S. stocks and a lower dollar and extending their gains to a second consecutive session.

Gold for April delivery GC2J +0.40% advanced $9.10, or 0.5%, to $1,749.50 an ounce, at its highest since early December.

Positive manufacturing data in several European countries as well as a positive U.S. private-sector employment report helped metals more closely linked to industrial activities, with platinum up 2.2%.
