If you’re the gambling type, you may want to set your sights on Microsoft, as the latest trend is to gamble on who the next Microsoft CEO will be.

With last week’s news of current Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer‘s plan to step down within the next 12 months, people have taken to Vegas to bet on who his successor will be.

Anyone from Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer to Apple CEO Tim Cook can be wagered on, each with individual odds. Mayer’s odds are currently at 33-to-1, while Cook’s are a super long shot, at 100-to-1.

Vegas isn’t anticipating Bill Gates making a triumphant return to the position he once held, with the odds for the Microsoft founder to reclaim his position set at 50-to-1.

Who’s the most likely? Stephen Elop, the CEO of Nokia and former Microsoft employee, is currently sitting pretty with 5-to-1 odds, followed closely by Microsoft’s current Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Turner.

If you’re feeling confident as to who will be chosen as the new Microsoft CEO, feel free to put your money where your mouth is, as the odds are set! Who knows, maybe making the right choice could put you in position to find yourself buying into the company!
