Caitlyn Jenner Could Be Charged With Manslaughter For Fatal Car Crash

by Eitan Levine

Variety reports Caitlyn Jenner could be facing jail time after a car accident she was involved in resulted in the death of one woman in February.

Though it was originally believed she wouldn't face charges for the incident, Lt. Shaun Mathers of the LA County Sheriff's Department reportedly said,

The case will be submitted to the district attorney next week.

Detectives are expected to release evidence that could result in a misdemeanor manslaughter charge. If found guilty, Jenner could spend a year in jail.

Detective Richard Curry of the LA County Sheriff's Department allegedly said there is only a “50/50” chance Jenner will be convicted because there was “nothing really egregious” about the case.

According to police, on February 7, Jenner was driving her Escalade in Malibu at speeds under the limit but still above where they should have been given the road conditions at the time. Her car apparently hit another car, causing a chain reaction that pushed Kim Howe's Lexus into oncoming traffic.

Howe was killed when her car was struck by another car.

Police say Jessica Steindorff, the third driver involved, was driving with a suspended driver's license at the time of the crash.
