College Student Arrested After Pushing Woman Off 10-Foot Roof At Party (Video)

by Eitan Levine

Police allegedly arrested a man who was videotaped pushing a woman off a roof at a party near the Bridgewater State University campus.

Police were already at the scene breaking up the 200-person party when 20-year-old student Sophia Czarowicz was dancing on the roof, according to WCVB.

Then, Alexander Marquez reportedly got behind Czarowicz and pushed her into a crowd about 10 feet below. Thankfully, she was caught by partygoers and escaped the incident with only a few bruises.

Police told WHDH they have no idea why Marquez decided to push the woman, though they can confirm he was on the roof attempting to rile up the crowd.

Marquez pleaded not guilty on Monday to three charges including one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, WHDH News reports.

He is apparently being held on a $5,000 bail.

In a statement, Bridgewater State University President Frederick Clark Jr said,

Our student code of conduct applies equally to off-campus as to on-campus actions. We will immediately begin our own inquiry into this matter and, based on our findings, will take any and all appropriate measures. Bridgewater State has a zero-tolerance policy for any acts of violence against any member of our university family.

Good to know BSU is firmly against people getting pushed off roofs.

Now that it was confirmed everyone in this story is safe, and the proper authorities are involved, I will just say, maybe next time don't Snapchat a girl getting pushed off a roof and then caption it.

Seriously, what's the deal with that video?
