Your Friends May Say They Want To Hang Out, But Science Says They're Lying

Sure, we all like a good night out. Who doesn't? But how does a chilled night in with Netflix, no walking and plenty of food sound? Even better, right?

In fact, we're enjoying our chill time so much, we're blowing off our friends to stay in -- and lying about it.

If you think about it, really good nights are hard to come by these days. That's probably because it takes so much planning, the hype gets too massive, and then, it never reaches our expectations. It's so much easier to lie to our friends and sink into the sofa instead.

According to a study by Yelp Eat24, nearly 30 percent of us are left disappointed by nights out.

That's why 85 percent of us make up excuses and leave a brother hanging. Yelp claims we'd rather read or play video games than meet up with buddies. READ. What a sad day. I suppose you can play video games with your pals online these days, but still, that's no excuse.

Come on, people. Where's the YOLO, the FOMO and any other four-letter acronym?
