News Crew Reportedly Gets Robbed At An Anti-Robbery Conference

by Gillian Fuller

Well, this is awkward.

A van transporting film equipment for ABC News was reportedly robbed while parked outside of a press conference dedicated to lowering robberies in Washington, DC.

According to reporter Stephen Tschida, the van's window was smashed in, and a significant amount of equipment was stolen. The news crew, fortunately, was not in the vehicle at the time of the robbery.

The robbery took place roughly 100 feet from where DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier were standing. Bowser and Lanier were speaking at a press conference about the possibility of establishing a task force specifically targeting robberies and similar crimes.

There are no suspects as of yet.
