In a disappointing turn of events, the 62-year-old nurse who believed she won the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot Wednesday was actually pranked by her son. Initial reports stated the woman won thanks to her boss, Shlomo Rechnitz, buying the entire nursing staff lotto tickets with the message,

We'll provide the ticket, you provide the dream.

But apparently she was tricked by her son. According to the woman's daughter, she,

Went home thinking she was a member of the 1 percent — only to find out her son was merely joking around.

NY Daily News reports the nurse's son,

...went so far as to send her a picture of what he said was the winning ticket.

Now that's just cruel.

In an interview with ABC 7 News, Rechnitz called the prank "despicable" and plans on paying for a trip for the woman and her family to wherever she chooses. She'll probably want to leave that one son behind, though. With six other children of her own, she could do without one prankster.
