People Are Roasting Bill Clinton Over His Story About Courting Hillary

Bill Clinton's speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention was always going to be major.

On Tuesday, the 42nd president of the United States was tasked with humanizing his wife, speaking about her more as a person than a politician so as to counter the attacks on her character from the right.

He delivered on that expectation, too, calling her the "best mother in the whole world" and walking the audience through the story of how he met Hillary Clinton in the early 1970s at Yale University.

There's just one little problem: The way Bill set up the story made it really easy to joke about.

Practically from the moment Bill started off with the line, "In the spring of 1971, I met a girl," the jokesters were on him.

There were jokes about other women.

And there were jokes about, you know, that thing that happened in 1998 with Monica Lewinsky.

Yeah, that was inevitable.

But it's no big deal. These kinds of things just happen when you have an affair in literally the most well-known building in the country while holding the most important title in the world.

Well, let's all hope Bill's past doesn't distract too much from DNC where Hillary's made history as the first woman presidential nominee of a major party in the US.
