Barack Obama's half-brother Malik Obama, who lives in Kenya, says that he will be voting for Trump this election cycle, as Trump promptly pointed out on his Twitter.
(OK, I just need to take a moment to acknowledge just how fundamentally uncool the exclamation point at the end of this tweet is. I hate it.)
Malik's purported reasons for stabbing his brother in the back? That he doesn't like same-sex marriage (Malik has 12 wives, by the way), and that, as he puts it, "'Make America Great Again' is a great slogan."
Of course, this is coming from a man who, in searching for an adjective to best describe what he likes about the slogan "Make America Great Again," could only come up with saying "great" again.
But that's all beside the point because the more you listen to Malik Obama talk about his brother, the more obviously bitter and jealous he reveals himself to be of his brother.
I mean, just imagine if your brother was literally the most powerful person on the planet. Honestly, I'm still getting over my sister going to a better college than me.
Apparently, earlier this month, Barack visited Kenya and didn't tell his half-brother he was coming, which clearly hurt the man's feelings.
From what I hear, he is coming now as the president of the United States. He should have at least informed us as his family.
He's also added,
I'm very proud of my brother, but I would like for him to do a little bit more for the family on this side. I would like to say he could send some money. I give money when asked.
I'm pretty sure every time he says "his family" he means "me."
And when Malik began running a controversial charity, named after their father, he claimed, "My brother didn't help me at all," and, "He hasn't supported me at all." Apparently, the charity was unable to acquire a tax-exempt status at the time, and Barack wouldn't fix that for him.
Throughout all of this, all I can picture is:
As CBS news points out, Malik is able to vote in the election because, despite the fact that he now lives in Kenya, he's still officially on record as a resident of Maryland, where he used to work as an accountant.
Although maybe if Barack pays a bit more attention to Malik, and, you know, asks him how he's doing, Malik's vote may very well change. If not, I predict a very awkward Thanksgiving dinner.
