Trump Says Islamic Women Prefer Wearing Burkas To Putting On Makeup

by Kendall Wood

Presidential candidate Donald Trump is quite the jokester.

While giving a speech in Atkinson, New Hampshire on Monday, Trump said Islamic women prefer wearing burkas to putting on makeup.

The comment came in the midst of his ramblings on how American foreign policy has destabilized the Middle East.

To defend his argument against US involvement in Iraq, Trump said,

What are we doing? The migration was caused by Iraq, by Libya, by this. We want to give people freedom? We're not going to have our own freedom pretty soon if we keep doing this...They don't want freedom ... We want it where the women over there don't have to wear the 'you-know-what.' And then I said, 'Oh well that make sense.' Then I saw women interviewed. They said, 'We want to wear them, we've worn them for a thousand years. Why would anybody tell us not?' They want to! What the hell are we getting involved for? In fact, it's easier. You don't have to put on makeup.

It's worth reiterating that the presidential candidate did not know the proper term for the burka, referring to the symbol of religious faith as "the you-know-what."

Trump continued his commentary with a quick swipe across his forehead, as though to set a burka in place: "I'm ready, darling. Let's go."
