On Friday afternoon, protestors shut down the roadway near the California Republican Convention, forcing Donald Trump to use the back entrance. In the process, he had to jump over a wall.

Although it was a relatively small wall, this probably stands as one of the most ironic and amusing moments of the US presidential election thus far.

Trump addressed the incident at the beginning of his speech at the convention.

He said,

That was not the easiest entrance I've ever made. We went under a fence and through a fence. It felt like I was crossing the border, actually. It's true. I was crossing the border, but I got here.

Evidently, Trump recognized he just got a taste of his own medicine. Building a wall along the US-Mexico border continues to be one of Trump's primary talking points on the campaign trail.

In spite of the fact his plan to build a wall is widely viewed as extremely unfeasible and as an ineffective way to deal with immigration, the real estate mogul is unrelenting in his talk about building a "beautiful wall."

While the Republican front-runner's wall is a popular notion among his supporters, it's also a large part of the reason his presence in California inspired massive and chaotic protests over the past two days.
