Amazon just unveiled their Instant Video service available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. This new tool allows Xbox users to access 120,000 movies and TV episodes to rent and purchase through Amazon. The app also offers access to the Prime Instant video selection, which costs $79/year.

The new app also lets users utilize Amazon’s Whispersync serice, which allows users to continue watching videos on different devices.

The app can be controlled with both voice commands and gestures.

Over 32 million U.S. households access online video from their televisions. And, according to a recent Forrester study, video game consoles are one of the most popular modes for access.

The release of this app means that Amazon Instant is now available on most popular set-top boxes and consoles except the Wii.

Amazon is having a busy year. Just last month, Amazon launched its PS3 app. Let’s see what else they have in store for this year.
