Samsung’s latest commercial has gone viral because of the horrific acting featured.
Daily Mail reports that the video, which can be seen on YouTube, has been torn apart by thousands of people, all claiming that the male and female actors fail miserably at convincing the viewers of the excitement surrounding the computer hardware they are supposed to be promoting.
The three-minute ad was designed to praise Samsung’s 840 EVO Series Solid State drive.
In the commercial, the actors attempt to seem delighted with the new equipment after being quizzed on their own computer’s pros and cons.
One woman playing a housewife complains that her computer takes too long to reboot and then attaches the new hardware to her laptop to see the results.
Yet all the enthusiasm she could muster up was a pathetic “Aw, I did it, did you see that?” after the drive’s purpose proves successful.
Reddit has its own thread dedicated to the ad under the title “Samsung ad featuring possibly the world’s worst actors.”
One comment comes from a user who claims to be one of the actors in the commercial. According to Daily Mail, the user Damienf1 said that the ad was only supposed to be released in South Korea and not America.
He said that the ad was written by people who don’t speak English as their first language and that the company instructed him and the other actors to speak deliberately slow so their words could be “dubbed over in Korean.”
He vouched for the other actors as well, saying that they all could have done a better job with their performances, but were merely following the director’s orders.
