Do you believe in ghosts? Actually, that doesn't matter, because whether you do or don't this'll still scare the pants off you. Adam Ellis, a writer and artist with Buzzfeed, recently shared to Twitter a terrifying tale about being haunted by the ghost of a little boy called “Dear David,” who wants to kill him.

Oh yeah. Go turn on all the lights. You'll need it.

Ellis shared the whole story in a Twitter thread on Monday.

It starts (relatively) innocently, with just a creepy dream. If you can call dreaming about a dead kid who's staring at you in your sleep "innocent," anyway.

Um, no.

Yeah I can't blame him for that, I would have woken up screaming too. That line drawing is already just about the creepiest thing I've seen in my life, I don't want to know what it looked like in real un-life.

But all's well that ends well, right? Scary dream, you wake up, shake it off and go about your business.

Nnnnnnnope!

Here's where it starts getting extra creepy.

What. No.

Is this a weird undead version of 20 Questions, where if you go over the limit the ghost just kills you? No. Do not play this game. Don't ask any questions!

He asked questions.

Oh thank god. I thought this was going to go really bad. It was just a dream after all, right?

Wrong.

What. What. What. What.

BRB, running around my apartment turning on every lamp I own, which will stay on from now until the eventual heat death of the universe.

If, like me, you are legitimately scared of ghosts, this is probably the most terrifying thing you can read. How do you protect yourself from a murderous child ghost?

On Twitter, some are trying to give Ellis advice.

On the Buzzfeed page recounting the same story, Ellis left a poll at the bottom for people to help him figure out what to do next.

Among the options are whether try to contact Dear David with an Ouija board (No. What, are you going to ask him a fourth question and piss him off more?) or whether to cleanse his apartment with sage and salt (yes). Elite Daily reached out to Ellis to find out his next steps, and will let you know if we hear back.

But there are still so many unanswered questions.

What happened to Dear David? What's going to happen to Ellis? Is Dear David really coming after him? Oh god, will he come for me tonight in my sleep?

Guess I'm never sleeping again.
