Surveillance footage seemingly caught a woman stealing a ring from a corpse at a funeral home.

The ring was stolen off the finger of 88-year-old Lois Hicks, whose body was on display at the Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas on Friday, Huffington Post reports.

Hicks' daughter, Vel McKee, reportedly left the open casket for just 15 minutes when the unidentified woman not known to Hicks' family entered the room.

The suspect reportedly even tore some of the skin off Hicks' finger during the theft before fleeing in a car.

According to ABC News, police said the ring was made of plastic and was, therefore, only valued at an estimated $10.

The Odessa Police Department posted a video of the theft, which is being treated as a felony, on its Facebook page Monday to gain help from the public in identifying the woman.

No arrests have been made, but the funeral home's general manager claimed surveillance cameras captured images of the woman's license plate. View the surveillance footage below.
