A Mexican beauty queen was killed during a shootout with police, as she and other suspected drug traffickers allegedly fired at officers during the clash in the Pacific coast state of Sinaloa.
Maria Susana Flores Gamez, 20, was killed amidst the gunfire during the melee on November 24th.
Authorities had previously thought that Flores Gamez was used as a human shield, but new ballistic evidence released on Tuesday revealed that tests indicate that Florez Gamez had gunpowder residue on her hands.
Authorities are still investigating whether the Mexican beauty queen fired a weapon.
Flores Gamez was crowned the 2012 Woman of Sinaloa in February.
The Mexican beauty queen allegedly came out of the car with a gun in her hands with other gunmen hiding behind her.
