Adorable 4-Year-Old Boy Gives 90-Year-Old Man 'Best Friends' Dog Tags

by Robert Gordon

These two friends won't let a little age difference come in-between their special bond.

Four-year-old Emmett Rychner and his friend Erling Kindem, a 90-year-old WWII veteran, made headlines last summer when a local Minnesota news station reported on their unlikely friendship.

The two were neighbors who often spent time together, but they were seemingly torn apart when the Rychner family moved away to a larger house, and Kindem moved to a senior citizen home.

But a follow-up piece shows the two are still best friends; Emmett recently went to visit Kindem in his new home.

For Kindem's 90th birthday, Emmett surprised him with dog tags that said "Friends Forever" on one side and their names on the other.

We hope there are many more chapters to this beautiful friendship!
