Asian Americans Fight Through Tears To Talk About Immigrant Parents' Sacrifices

Being a stranger in a new land can be difficult, especially if you are tasked with the job of raising a family under unfamiliar living conditions.

BuzzFeed set out to give the children of Asian immigrants a chance to speak about the struggles their parents faced when they immigrated to America.

Participants told touching stories of poverty, having to decide between work life and home life, dealing with culture shock and being cut off from their family back home.

The video is partly a retelling of each family’s individual story and partly a chance for the participants to give a tearful thanks to their parents for all they've done.
