Shots were fired near the Big Bear area in California, and it is being reported that Christopher Dorner was engaged in a gun battle with authorities.

After Dorner allegedly broke into a home in the area, law enforcement officials approached the area, and shots were fired.

It is now being reported that two officers were wounded in the gun battle with Dorner, and the wanted man was able to get away.

He is believed to be driving a white Dodge pickup truck. This is a developing story. Stay tuned for further updates.

[Updated: 4:35 p.m. ET] The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department confirms that authorities are chasing a pickup truck, according to CNN’s Casey Wians. The department hasn’t confirmed whether Dorner is connected to the chase.

[Updated: 4:54 p.m. ET] CBS is reporting that Christopher Dorner utilized armor-piercing weaponry.

[Updated: 5:07 p.m. ET] Christopher Dorner is holed up in a cabin, according to authorities.

[Updated: 5:14 p.m. ET] Dorner’s white pick up truck may have been located in a gully behind the cabin he is thought to be in.

[Updated: 8:20 p.m. ET] Gunfire broke out in the cabin police thought Dorner was in, with multiple rounds exchanged. One of the officers shot has succumbed to his injuries, while the other is in surgery and expected to recover.
[Updated: 8:30 p.m. ET] The cabin was engulfed in flames and Dormer is presumed to be dead. There is no confirmation, and authorities have no way to get inside the cabin, and may not be able to until tomorrow due to the fire.
