You Will Now Be Able To Change Channels By Waving Your Finger At The TV Screen

The days of searching through the couch for the remote because you’re too stoned and don’t know where you placed it could very well be a thing of the past, as an Israeli company has announced the first gesture technology that allows users to control devices by waving their fingers.

EyeSight Technologies has announced the revolutionary technology that would allow users to control TVs, computers and other devices by moving their fingers in the air.

“EyeSight’s unique Fingertip tracking technology has been in development for some time now, and now we are officially launching this as a product available for licensing together with our other solutions or as a standalone engine,” said CEO Gideo Shmuel.

“This fingertip tracking capability is extremely accurate enabling millimeter  resolution of recognition up to 5 meters away from the device.

“The fingertip tracking UI solution is available for various devices from tablets  and PCs and up to TVs, set-top boxes and digital signage.”

Certain hand gestures will be converted into commands, which will be used to control functions and applications within devices.

The only issue we see happening is an accidental gesture could change the channel. If customizable, I’m setting the middle finger as the command to change the channel.
