Dietary habits vary vastly around the world, and while this may be common knowledge, seeing food consumption side-by-side really forces us to step back and realize the differences.

Photographer Peter Menzel has compiled this incredible project, showing what one week of groceries looks like in countries all over the world.

The differences are stark, as the diets between those in Australia and Chad couldn’t be more unalike.

While countries like the United States and Great Britain have tons of processed foods, the groceries of India and Ecuador contain many fresh fruits and veggies, accompanied by people who look much happier.

Italy’s diet contains lots of bread and pasta to nobody’s surprise, while Mongolia features meat and more eggs than we can count.

Check out these breathtaking photos below, and let us know which grocery list you would prefer!

Believe it or not, there is a generalized stereotype for just about any sexual orientation or race existing today.
