They say that opposites attract and eventually stay together forever. This is why it’s no surprise that two people named Kelly Hildebrandt recently filed for divorce.
Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt and Kelly Carl Hildebrandt bonded over having the same name and married three years ago.
How did they find each other? The same way everyone else finds people with the same name as them: Facebook.
“She said, ‘Hi. We had the same name. Thought it was cool,’” Mr. Hildebrandt told AP. “I thought she was pretty cute.”
Too bad having the same name couldn’t stop the “irreconcilable differences” that halted the marriage.
That and the fact that they were from different states. Namely, different states.
“She’s a Florida girl, and I’m a Texas guy,” Mr. Hildebrandt told an NBC affiliate. We really did come from pretty different worlds.”
If two people with the same name can’t make it work, what chance do the rest of us have?
