This Couple Is Getting Married Again After The Bride Lost Her Memory
Justice Stamper can't remember the day she got married, so her husband is simply going to marry her again.
In 2014, Justice Stamper almost lost her life when she was in a car accident on the way to visit her aunt just weeks after marrying her high school sweetheart, Jeremy.
The 20-year-old Virginian -- whose car was hit so hard, it shot 50 feet to the right side of the road -- was badly injured but miraculously survived the crash.
In the days following the accident, it became clear along with her physical injuries, Justice had problems recalling memories from her life before she got into the car that day.
One memory Justice couldn't recall was the day she got married to Jeremy.
Despite looking through wedding videos and photo albums, Justice couldn't remember a single thing.
She told PEOPLE,
It's like going to a foreign country and not understanding what anyone is saying. It's very confusing.
When it became apparent Justice wasn't going to remember the nuptials, Jeremy made a vow to simply “do it again.”
Jeremy is still in school, but thanks to a GoFundMe campaign, he plans to carry out that promise on August 1.
The goal is to raise $5,000 for what is being called “The Stamper Wedding Round 2.”
The couple raised almost half the amount needed and plans have already been put in place to give Justice a day she can hopefully remember for a lifetime.
Though Justice is still struggling with PTSD from the accident and issues with speech and short-term memory loss, she is determined to share this new moment with even more family and loved ones than her first wedding.
Jeremy said their first wedding was perfect but added,
...this time, I want Justice to truly be blown away. She really deserves it.
