Couple Of Five Years Break Up Via Youtube Music Video [Video]

World

Music helps the healing process of a break up, but this couple of five years took it to the next level, immortalizing their break up via YouTube in the form of a music video.

The hipster Brooklyn former couple of Jonathan Mann, 30, and Ivory King, 31, joined together one last time for a duet in which they explained why they were breaking up.

The couple from Williamsburg said that posting a music video was the easiest, most pain-free way of breaking the news to their friends.

“I didn’t want to make a post on Facebook and have that be it,” Mann told the New York Daily News.

“And I didn’t want to have to explain it over and over to people, because that could be really painful.”

The main dispute between the former couple was over Mr. Mann’s desire to have kids, while Ms. King did not.

“We still love each other, but this train has stopped. We just wanted you to know, we’ve gotta break up,” they sing, adding, “G-d, this really sucks.”

The song was part of Mr. Mann’s “Song a Day” project, which has been running for more than 1,400 days consecutively.

Ms. King, a writer, has often helped her former beau by singing and offering her talents on the bass clarinet.

They’re sure to find more hipster love in Williamsburg, so we’re not too worried about either one of them.
