Apple Customers Upset as Their iPhone 5s Shipped With Scratches

Many eager Apple enthusiasts who waited days on line in order to be some of the first to get their hands on the iPhone 5 were disappointed to find the brushed metal finish on the back of the phone to be scratched already.

Upset customers complained on sites like MacRumors about scratches and scuffs near the antenna and on the back of the phone.

“Mine arrived today with small scratches on the right out of the box. Looks like they chipped the anodized coating putting the screen in, and there is a small mark on the lower back too, by the glass section,” wrote MacRumorscommenter spr97ajm.

“I’m not going to worry about it, but it shows the coating is soft, and will chip over time,” he added.

It seems as if this mostly affects the black version of the new iPhone.

The iPhone 5′s susceptibility to abrasions has caused some major concern, as disgruntled customers want their product to be as pretty as it is functional.
At least back of it cannot shatter like that of the iPhone 4S.
