Move over pomegranate and Açaí berries, dragon fruit is the next big superfood, as it looks to be the big craze of 2013.

The dragon fruit looks like it’s ready for a fight on the outside, with sharp, prickly bits ready to protect it from possible intruders.

Once you get beyond its rugged outside, the inside is most definitely worth the trouble.

The dragon fruit boasts tons of health-giving properties, including a slew of anti-oxidents, as well as the ability to regulate blood sugar levels in diabetics.

The fruit originates in South America, but is also now grown in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Philippines, where it’s loved for its many health benefits.

Said to be rich in vitamin C, fiber and calcium, the pitaya – or dragon fruit as it’s also known – gives much more nutrients than the very popular açaí berries.

So if you’re looking to be healthy and trendy, crack open a dragon fruit.

Keepers discovered the elephants were addicted to something when some who arrived at the sanctuary became aggressive and restless. Soon, they ran tests […]

Snoop Dogg’s Educational Video ‘Plizzanet Earth’ Teaches About ‘Rams And Sh*t,’ And It’s Hilarious

Snoop Dogg talking about “them rams or billy goats” in this video called “Plizzanet Earth” is actually hysterical. It’s narrated by the Dogg himself, who tells viewers about some “old, ancient sh*t” about […]

#StopCensoringMotherhood Looks To End Instagram’s Hypocritical Censorship Of Moms

We all know that Instagram has been avid at trying to keep nudity off its site — much to the dismay of @badgalriri (and her diamond-encrusted nipples). But while we understand harmful (or just plain inappropriate) censorship, it seems like motherhood is something that shouldn’t be banned from these social media sharing sites. The 4th […]

Heart-Monitoring Sensor Seatbelt Could Save Us From Falling Asleep Behind The Wheel

Too often, there are automobile accidents that could be avoided. But hopefully, this new invention will help prevent those accidents caused when too-tired drivers get behind the wheel. A still-in-development prototype system is hoping to incorporate heartbeat and respiration monitoring into seatbelts, so that a car could actually know when its driver starts falling asleep. […]
