eBay is increasing its instant functionality with a new service, called eBay Now, which promises consumers will receive their goods within the hour.

Customers in San Francisco and New York can use eBay Now their computers, smartphones and tablets to order from select stores, such as Best Buy, Target, Macy’s and Toys ‘R’ Us, and receive their purchases within the hour.

eBay says it is looking to expand this service to other cities.

eBay Now users will pay $5 for delivery and their local sales tax.

This may revolutionize last second shopping during the holiday season, instead of driving around the city trying to find those allusive gifts at jam-packed malls.

Amazon.com offers a same-day shipping service in ten major U.S. cities, but it is much more expensive than eBay Now is.
