65 years ago, Betty Billadeau and her younger brother Clifford Boyson were separated when they were taken to two separate foster homes.

Clifford searched and searched for years to find his older sister, and last week, his efforts finally paid off.

On a whim, Clifford asked Eddie Hanzlin, the 8-year-old son of one of his neighbors, to search for Betty on Facebook. Within a few days, the 8-year-old found Clifford’s long-lost sister and helped the two reunite.

Eddie was able to find the 70-year-old Betty because she had included her maiden name in her profile.

“An eight-year-old; that’s just mind boggling,” said Billadeu, who plans to make the trip from Florissant, Missouri, to Davenport, Iowa this Saturday so she can give her brother a long-overdue hug.

Maybe these young, whippersnappers are good for something after all!
