This Flight From Los Angeles to Florida Lasted 19 Hours
Now we all might not be fans of cross-country flights–I would wager seldom few of us are–but even one such flight is nowhere near as bad as the 19 hour journey Spirit Airlines Flight 310 passengers had to endure.
Spirit Airlines Flight 310 from Los Angeles to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was forced to make an unexpected landing in Houston when a passenger became “disruptive.” Now this situation would seem to be easily rectified, but unfortunately, Spirit Airlines does not fly from Houston to Ft. Lauderdale. As a result of the unplanned landing, the passengers had to be shuttled to Dallas for a connecting flight.
But the horror did not end there. The passengers were also forced to sit on the tarmac for hours. Spirit Airlines eventually apologized for the serious inconvenience, but did not reveal any information to the passengers regarding the disruptive passenger. Funny enough, it was an 81-year-old “kicking and screaming” blind man who had to be detained by authorities.
Passenger Theresa Shaviano reflected on the ordeal to the LA Times.
It was terrible. It was unreal. It was painful. Nineteen hours we were in this mess.
Elite.
