New GPS Technology Tells Drivers Exactly How Fast To Go So They Don’t Hit Any Red Lights
This is an incredible innovation in GPS technology, as a new GPS tells drivers exactly how fast to go to avoid hitting red lights.
The project was innovated by academics at Newcastle University, as it will allow people to avoid traffic jams, and will reduce travel times for everyone.
“What’s unique about this trial is that we will be giving information directly to the driver,” said Phil Blythe, professor of intelligent transport systems at Newcastle.
“For example, the system might advise a driver that if they travel at 24 miles an hour they will hit the next four sets of traffic lights on green.
“In more congested areas or particularly busy times of the day, then key roads might be given priority in order to keep the traffic flowing.”
For those who don’t know that 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue, 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue are the best for green light runs, this will help you get around the city.
