Thanks to a generous grant from Paypal cofounder Peter Thiel, artificial, lab-grown steaks may be a viable option for dinner in the very near future.

Billionaire Peter Thiel is backing American startup Modern Meadow to develop its 3D bioprinting technology and create artificial steaks in the process.

To help them reach their goal, Thiel has offered a grant of between $250,000 and $360,000 through the Thiel Foundation’s ‘Breakout Labs’.

The Missouri-based startup is pushing bioprinted meat as a greener option for people to get their meat fix.

This process could alleviate the stressed food prices in the near future, as U.S. droughts have caused food prices to skyrocket.

Elite Daily Entertainment Writer Adam Pliskin co-authored this post. Adapting novels into films is nothing new.
