News Hosts Blame Hip-Hop For The Racist Words Of The SAE Brothers (Video)

by Adam Pliskin

Waka Flocka publicly denounced the racist actions of the University of Oklahoma SAE fraternity brothers.

Now, the hosts of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" are blaming him and hip-hop in general for the racist chant that got the frat brothers kicked off the OU campus.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough argued these kids heard the racist words from hip-hop, and the music spurred their despicable actions.

There was one voice of reason in the crowd.

Willie Geist said,

There is a distinction between white kids on a bus talking about hanging someone and Waka Flocka singing a song.

The other hosts pushed back against this. It's pretty clear mainstream media can be pretty tone deaf when it comes to issues of race in America.
