You Have No Idea What Kind of Fish You’re Eating
Can you tell the difference between Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cinnamon Squares? How about Fruit Loops and Fruity O’s. Most people can’t tell the difference, but when we are talking about cereal there is no risk involved. Now fish on the other hand could be much more dangerous.
A new study shows that many food establishments in NYC that sell fish actually improperly label the fish on their menus. The scary part of that is that the fish that your actually eating could make you sick or give you food poisoning.
They found that, “Ninety-four percent of fish sold as white tuna was not tuna at all but in many cases a fish known as snake mackerel, or escolar, which contains a toxin that can cause severe diarrhea if more than a few ounces of meat are ingested.”
So from now on when dining out, be sure of what your getting because if you order fish and it isn’t actually what you ordered it will probably be one of the worst meals you ever had, even if it tastes great.
This is why it is best to only eat raw fish at high-end establishments. You get what you pay for.
