Kids Are Now Applying Lip Balm To Their Eyelids To Get High, And It's Called 'Beezin'

by Sean Levinson

Booming and blazing are so 2010.

The new cool way to get high is "Beezin," or the act of putting Burt's Bees lip balm wax on the eyelids.

According to Fox-25, kids say that the sensation causes disorientation similar to being drunk or stoned and even strengthens their attention spans.

But Dr. Brett Cauthen told the Oklahoma City news station that it's probably just the feeling of the lip balm's ingredients on the eye that makes the kids laugh.

"It's the peppermint oil that's causing the burning sensation and I suppose some people think that is kind of funny," he said.

It's almost as funny as giving yourself pink eye to amuse your friends.

"The peppermint oil in the lip balm is a very strong irritant and can cause inflammation in the eye redness of the eye swelling," Dr. Cauthen added.

Beezin has apparently been around since 2013, but it seems to be more of a Pop Rocks and Coke kind of thing rather than an addictive habit.

Here's a video of some high school kid nearly beezin his way into blindness last year:

And here is YouTube user Derek Lehmann, who goes by the moniker MakoOsh, rapping about the art of getting a buzz from Burt's Bees in the appropriately titled song, "Breezin":
