A tragic helicopter crash on Sunday morning near Los Angeles has left three people dead, leaving a somber mood on the set of a military-themed reality show for the Discovery Channel.

According to Los Angeles County Fire dispatcher Robert Diaz, the crash occurred at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday morning at the Polsa Rosa Ranch near Acton in Los Angeles County, California.

All three people on board — the pilot and two passengers — died, Diaz said.

According to Federal Aviation Administer spokesman Allen Kenitzer, the Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter hit the ground “under unknown circumstances,” adding that the investigation is ongoing.

“A production company was shooting a show for Discovery Channel when this tragic accident occurred,” Discovery said in a statement.

“We are all cooperating fully with authorities. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families.”

Somewhere, Someone Is Still Using 1-800-COLLECT And Paying Way Too Much For It

Anyone who lived through the 1990s remembers 1-800-COLLECT, the service that charged pay phone users moderate rates as opposed to whatever the company that owned the phone was charging. Pay phones have obviously become obsolete in the world of cell phones but as a user of tech forum Ars Technica recently discovered, enough people still […]

Seven Adorable And Identical Kittens React In Perfect Unison (Video)

Okay, I don’t generally fall for the adorableness or humorous nature of cats, but this video definitely just made me a believer. For today’s dose of “I can’t even,” seven little kittens are filmed in a line on a table while moving their heads in perfect unison as an object is waved in front of their faces. […]
