A man accidentally ran over and killed his ten-month-old daughter, when the baby girl crawled out to the driveway of their Slidell, Louisiana home.

The father was doing work on the car when a bunch of the family’s pets got loose.

As the pets were being rounded up, the baby crawled out of the house and onto the driveway.

The man returned to the car and drove off, unknowingly running over his daughter in the process.

The Sheriff says this isn’t anything more than a terrible accident.

“The fact that these horrible accidents do occur, it makes us all reflect and realize that life truly is precious and we better pay attention to the things that are important to us,” said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain.

Witnesses say the man was screaming and crying, repeatedly asking “how could this happen?”

We can’t even imagine the pain the man is going through, as nothing is worse than losing a child.
