Male Teen Takes To YouTube To Discuss Being Raped
A male rape victim from Orlando has gone public with his assault, describing it in graphic detail on YouTube.
18-year-old Justin Hand’s testimony is raw, descriptive and occasionally humorous, but above all is unique — in the beginning, he explains that he was inspired to make the videos because his rape was not at all like what we see in the movies.
The two-part video blog, “Raped Last Sunday,” starts with the finance student meeting a stranger at gay club Parliament House in Orlando.
He ends up going back to the guy’s motel room and being attacked when he tries to leave.
What makes Hand’s experience so compelling is the way he discusses what was going through his mind at the time. He wasn’t so much screaming and crying as he was in shock, trying to piece together the sequence of events.
“There was so much pain by this guy thrusting into me, so forcefully and hatefully,” he says.
“And I think that’s what hurt the most: I was having sex with someone who hated me. For no reason.”
Hand’s video has received both positive and negative feedback, but the overwhelming response seems to be appreciation for bringing attention to male rape, which isn’t often portrayed on TV or in films aside from instances of prison sex.
