Man Steals Big Rig In Order To Escape Zombies, Or So He Says
29-year-old Jeremiah Clyde Hartline of Tennessee caused major car accident involving several vehicles yesterday as his driving was drastically impaired by the zombies that he claimed were chasing him.
Hartline pleaded guilty to several charges including assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run causing death or injury and vehicle theft.
When police took Hartline into custody, he told them that the reason for his erratic driving could be explained by the zombies that were hanging off the side of the trailer of the car he stole.
Once he got behind the wheel, he discovered that the zombies were climbing after him so he tried to shake them off by frantically twisting and turning the vehicle which inadvertently caused a number of cars on the same road to crash into each other.
The California Highway Patrol says Hartline first hid inside a truck filled with strawberries while it was in Tennessee and then stole it after the driver got out at a weight station near Temecula, California.
Hartline could get up to five years in prison if convicted of all charges.
