Another NYC Man Kills Himself By Jumping In Front Of Subway Train At Times Square

An unidentified man was struck and killed at the Times Square station in New York City by a Bronx-bound 2 train this morning, in what is being reported as an apparent suicide.

According to The New York Times, witnesses said they saw a woman jump in front of the oncoming train at around 10 AM, but according to Gothamist, the NYPD has confirmed it was a man who was killed.

The train operator slammed on the brakes when pulling into the station, but it was to no avail, as the man successfully jumped in front of the train, killing himself.

After approximately 15 minutes, passengers were instructed to walk to the front of the train, where they then exited onto the platform.

DNAInfo reports it was a homeless man who was hit by the train. Subway service on the 1, 2, and 3 lines has since been restored.
