A woman miraculously survived a fall from her four-story window in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York in an attempt to escape a rapist.
The woman landed in the backyard of the building just before 6 AM, and the sound of her crashing woke up most of her neighbors.
“The crash sounded crazy,” Tiffany Sweeten, 25, told the Post. “She must have fallen into some trash cans or something because her landing was so loud. Then she kept screaming, ‘Help, help,’ over and over,”
According to another witness, the victim screamed for help and said that someone had tried to sexually assault her.
“She cried out for an ambulance and the police,” a neighbor told the Post. “She cried that someone had been trying to rape her.”
Police say they do not have a record of an attempted rape in the building, however.
An NYPD spokesman said that when interview, the victim said that she fell from the fourth floor and was in serious pain.
Neighbors also said they did not recognize the woman and that she was not a resident in the building.
“I think she might have been visiting someone. I didn’t recognize her voice,” said Truman Sales, 55, who woke up to the woman’s screams. “It sounded like she was in a lot of pain.”
Falling four stories? No shit she was in a lot of pain.
