New Orleans Bar Is Charging $10K For A ‘Key To The City’ Cocktail
With all eyes on New Orleans this Super Bowl weekend, the city’s bars and restaurants have had a hard time distinguishing themselves from the competition.
One crafty establishment has resorted to the oldest trick in the book to get attention: a hyper-priced cocktail. Enter the $10,000 “Key to the City” cocktail, available through Feb. 12 at the Windsor Court Hotel.
The drink features D’Oliveiras Malvasia 1907 Madeira Cobbler, served in a silver julep cup with fresh fruit and souvenir gold key.
It might sound like a rip-off, but most of your money is going to a future two-night penthouse stay at the hotel, spa treatments, dinner and a butler, which are included in this drink’s tab, along with some other goodies.
