Sneaker fans are aware of the recent release of the newest pair of Air Jordan’s, and the violent extremities people will go to in order to attain them.

This past weekend, two people who managed to get their hands on these Air Jordans were shot because somebody else wanted them or thought they shouldn’t have them to begin them. These two incidents took place in Harris County, Texas.

The first entails a 16 year old high school freshmen being gunned down inside a neighbor’s home. Gilberto Reyna was arguing with the man he recently purchased his Air Jordans from, and was soon shot when the argument escalated into violence.

The victim’s father claims that the argument was over the shoes Reyna bought from the gunmen.

Shooter Yusef Villanueva was arrested and charged with murder, even though he told police the gun went off by mistake and a witness called the incident an “accident.”

The second shooting occurred when two men who were on their way back from purchasing some new Air Jordan’s were stopped by two other men in a green car who demanded the shoes they just bought.

During the confrontation between the two cars, one victim jumped out and escaped to safety. The driver, however, attempted to drive off but was shot in the head. The victim then crashed his car into the side of his house and was hospitalized shortly after. He is still alive, as of now.

Two people shot over an obsession with shoes = America.
