Pope Benedict XVI Sends Out His First Tweet Via iPad [Video]
Pope Benedict XVI hit the 1 million Twitter follower mark today before he even sent out his first tweet, but he finally did tweet, using an iPad to post his inspirational message.
It read:
Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart.
— Benedict XVI (@Pontifex) December 12, 2012
Pope Benedict XVI has 8 twitter pages, each one posting the same messages in different languages.
The modernist Pope Paul VI Hall flashed the message on a screen as an audience looked on.
To coincide with today’s feast of the Madonna of Guadalupe, the 85-year-old Pope Benedict XVI has said he will respond to three messages sent to him from around the world using the hashtag #askpontifex, the Vatican said.
