A 14-year-old boy jumped over 100 feet to his death from the top of an apartment building in Chaikovsky, Russia, after witnessing his favorite manga character killed in a cartoon.

Police say the boy, Leonid Hmelev, died instantly.

The boy was reportedly devastated by the death of the character Itachi Uchiha in the animated movie “Naruto – Hurricane Chronicle.”

The boy posted a message afterward saying he was “planning an ending.”

His parents were worried as he did not come home, and a neighborhood search began.

His body was found yesterday and identified by his shocked father, 38-year-old Ivan.

“I always told him he spent too much time watching the TV,” said Ivan. “He didn’t know what was reality and what was fiction anymore.”

Russia has the third highest teenage suicide rate, with five Russians younger than 20 killing themselves everyday.

Why It Still Doesn’t Matter Whether Or Not Tony Soprano Lived

When “The Sopranos” ended in 2007 on a now-famous shot of its patriarch, Tony Soprano, sitting in a diner with his family, viewers cried foul. They were horrified by the ambiguity; they wanted to know if he lived, died or enjoyed drunkenly singing “Don’t Stop Believin’” as much as they did. The debate was resurrected […]
