Sandy Hook Survivors To Sing Special Tribute Song For Fallen Classmates At Super Bowl XLVII
Survivors of the horrific Sandy Hook shooting that took the lives of 26 students and faculty members of the school will pay tribute to their fallen friends by singing “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed that 26 students from the Newtown, Connecticut elementary school will perform in the pregame show of Super Bowl XLVII.
The children will go on right before Alicia Keys performs the national anthem.
The students and their families will be flown out to New Orleans for the event, courtesy of the NFL.
The NFL has shown overwhelming support for the community since the terrible incident in December, with players wearing the initials SH for Sandy Hook on their helmets, as well as reaching out to individual survivors.
