After 11 years of marriage, "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead" author Sheryl Sandberg said an untimely goodbye to her husband, Dave Goldberg, last week during a family vacation.
In a touching Facebook post on Tuesday, Sandberg publicly remembered the man who was her partner, best friend and father to her two children.
The impromptu obituary, which has been liked by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and more than 287,000 others, remembers a man who was Sandberg's "rock," supporting her through career changes and motherhood.
The New York Times reports Mexican officials confirmed Goldberg's death by head trauma at a private villa Friday, telling press, "he fell off the treadmill and cracked his head open.”
In memory of the 47-year-old SurveyMonkey CEO, BuzzFeed reports Goldberg's family requested friends post snapshots and memories of the man on his Facebook page.
Sandberg took a moment to appreciate the 11 "truly joyful" years she spent married to Goldberg.
